By Wes Feese, Media Relations, Adair County Schools

Adair County's incredible season came to an abrupt end Tuesday night when the Indians lost a nail-biter to district rival Taylor County in the championship game of the 5th Region Tournament. Adair (32-2) had beaten Taylor three times already this year, but fell just short in the fourth contest, 67-66.

"Hats off to Taylor County," says Adair County head coach Deron Breeze. "A regional championship game is meant to be entertaining and competitive and that is what both teams gave the 4,000 in attendance. Unfortunately, one team has to win and one has to lose and for the first time in four games between Taylor and Adair this year, we lost."

Ben Arnold: What a great basketball team!!!

Ben Arnold writes:
What a great basketball team, what a year, and, oh, so close! You gave the town some excitement and they supported you all strongly. Many are sharing you disappointment today, your parents, family and friends and many others of us. You can be proud of your year. I hope maybe sometime in the future you can look back and find something good about this loss, as hard as that might seem, maybe, just maybe? I did in a very similar situation. Take those principles of hard work, fair play and commitment into your future life and you all will be winners there also. - Ben Arnold
