She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Little Barren Separate Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She was the daughter of the late George B. Kidd and Ivy Mae Jeffries Kidd and the widow of Junius Houk.

Mrs. Faye Doris Houk, 95, of Greensburg, KY, departed this life on Monday, March 6, 2017 at the Grandview Nursing and Rehab Center in Campbellsville, KY.

The funeral services for Mrs. Faye Doris Houk will be conducted at 12pmNoonCT/1pmET, Thursday, March 9, 2017 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Little Barren Cemetery, with Bro. Meryl Young officiating. Visitation is requested from 5pm-8pmCT/6pm-9pmET, Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT/8amET, Thursday until time of the funeral service.



Pallbearers: Jon Judd, Dennis Thompson, Tony Mosby, Mike Barnett, Phil Hogue, Dale Decker, and Richie Thompson


Mrs. Faye Doris Houk, Green County, KY (1921-2017)


Mrs. Faye Doris Houk of Greensburg, KY, daughter of the late George B. Kidd and Ivy Mae Jeffries Kidd, was born on October 23, 1921, in Green County, KY and departed this life on Monday, March 6, 2017 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 95 years, four months, and 11 days.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Little Barren Separate Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

She united in marriage to Junius Houk on December 22, 1949 who preceded her in death on March 7, 1980.

Survivors include:
  • Three sisters-in-law: Ellen Houk, and Linda Houk, both of Greensburg, KY; and Peggy Houk of Campbellsville, KY

  • Special nieces: Jeania Judd Miller of Campbellsville, KY; and Joyce Hogue of Glasgow, KY

  • A special great-niece: Deleda Mosby of Glasgow, KY

  • And a host of other nieces, nephews other relatives and friends
Mrs. Houk was also preceded in death by three sisters: Audrey McKinney, Lola Thompson, and Alma Thompson; an infant brother: Eulas Kidd.
