Rosie K. Bearden age 80 years of Columbia, KY passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 6:37pmCT, at TJ Samson Hospital Emergency Room, Glasgow, KY

Funeral service will be Friday, March 10, 2017 at 3pmCT/4pmET, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Larry Franklin the officiating clergy. Interment will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 4:30pmCT/5:30pmET, Thursday, March 9, 2017.



Rosie K. Bearden, 80, Columbia, KY (1936-2017)


She was born on November 1, 1936 in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Dempsey & Lula Neat Franklin. She died Tuesday, March 7, 2017, in Glasgow, Barren County, KY, at the age of 80 years, four months, and six days.

She was the widow of the late Robert Earl "Lucky" Bearden who preceded her in death on June 3, 1981. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Ralph Franklin, Wallace Franklin, Harlan Franklin & Don Franklin; and two grandchildren Douglas Coy Dickson & Chris Bearden

Survivors include:
  • Three sons: Charles (Mabel) Dickson of Magnolia, KY; Terry (Sharon) Dickson of Louisville, KY; and Don Bearden of Columbia, KY

  • Three daughters: Fay (Carl) Posey of Greensburg, KY; Ruby (Curtis) Cox of English, IN; and Linda (Jimmy) Boston of Columbia, KY

  • Three brothers: Chester Franklin of Franklin, KY; Herbert (Betty) Franklin of Edmonton, KY; and Howard (Kathy) Franklin of Columbia, KY

  • Ten grandchildren

  • Several great grandchildren

  • A host of other relatives & friends
She attended the Church of Christ on Hudson Street, Columbia, KY, and was a homemaker.
