Carter, president of Campbellsville University, will be the first speaker at the university's chapel at 9amCT/10amET, Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Ransdell Chapel, 401 N Hoskins Avenue, Campbellsville, KY. Carter is in his 19th year as president of Campbellsville University, a position he has held since 1999.

Louvina Judd Geralds, 89, Adair Co., formerly of Green Co., KY

She was a retired Nursing Assistant for Jane Todd Crawford Hospital. She united in marriage to Garland T. Judd on June 2, 1945 who preceded her in death on November 2, 1977. She later united in marriage to Ernie Geralds who also preceded her in death in March of 1999. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Bradfordsville Baptist Church.

She retired from SKF and was of the Baptist faith. She was a member of a highly respected South Central Kentucky family. She was the daughter of the late Will & Chloe Ford and the widow of Don Roger Shive. She leaves six direct and one step- living descendants.

Larry Dale 'Lightning' Turner, Green County, KY (1956-2018)

Federal grand jury, Bowling Green, indicts in heroin death case

Alleged heroin dealer faces no less than 20 years in federal prison, no more than life in prison, if convicted. This case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Jo E. Lawless in coordination with the Warren County Commonwealth Attorney's Office, and is being investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Bowling Green Police Department and the Kentucky State Police.
Note: The indictment of a person by a Grand Jury is an accusation only and that person is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty

Helen Piercy , 82, Taylor Co./born Russell Co. KY - Formerly of Adair Co., KY

April 17, 1935 ~ August 14, 2018 (Age 82)
Mrs. Piercy attended the Green County Church of Christ, Greensburg, KY and was a homemaker. She enjoyed singing, dancing and making music. She was the daughter of the late John & Antha Grant Compton. And the widow of Russell Flatt, Homer Veach, and Calvin Coolidge - Chuck- Piercy. She was the matriarch of a great family, with direct descendants numbering 29 children and grandchildren, plus hosts of great grandchildren, many great- great- grandchildren. Three step children also survive. Her final resting place will be in her native Russell County, at the Ragan Cemetery on KY 55 South Road, in Adair & Russell Counties, KY.
