Larry Dale 'Lightning' Turner, Green County, KY (1956-2018)

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Holly Grove Baptist Church. He was retired after 13 years with the former Clark Casual Furniture, Inc., and 24 years employed with Cox Interior, Inc. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Bonnie Lynn McCubbins Turner of Green County, having united in marriage on September 7, 1975.

Larry Dale "Lightning" Turner of the Allendale Community of Green County, KY, died Monday, August 13, 2018 at his home.

The funeral services for Larry Dale "Lightning" Turner will be conducted at 1pmCT, Thursday, August 16, 2018 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Holly Grove Cemetery. Bro. Leslie Jewell and Bro. Dennis Penick officiating. Visitation is requested from 4-8pmCT Wednesday at the funeral home and after 7amCT Thursday until time of the funeral service.

PALLBEARERS: Randal Creason, Bobby Dile, Randal Dobson, Johnnie Dile, Jake Tucker, Barry Chase, Jason Patterson.

HONORARY PALLBEARERS: Philip Hay, David Dobson, Rondal Bradshaw, Glen Milby, Randy Dile, Luther Dile, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.

He was the son of the late Thomas Mearl Turner and Frances Evelyn Bryant Turner, born on Friday, March 9, 1956 in Taylor County and departed this life on Monday, August 13, 2018 at his home. He was 62 years, five months, and four days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Holly Grove Baptist Church. He was retired after 13 years with the former Clark Casual Furniture, Inc., and 24 years employed with Cox Interior, Inc.

Survivors are:
  • His wife - Bonnie Lynn McCubbins Turner of Green County

  • Three daughters and two sons-in-law: - Tina and Gary Jackson of Indiana, Mindy and Jason Coffey of Greensburg, and Ashley Turner of Hodgenville

  • Four grandchildren - Deseray Pierce, Calan Dale Daniel, Makayla Daniel all of Indiana, and Braden Coffey of Greensburg

  • Two brothers - Bobby Joe Turner and Carlos Turner both of Greensburg; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Turner was also preceded in death by a brother and sister: Mearl Turner and Mary Martha Turner.
