Brown & Brown Acquisition means job growth in Columbia

JOB GROWTH IN COLUMBIA - Build up of Adair County jobs at Columbia Commercial Insurance Service support team's Center will result from Brown & Brown's acquisition of Automotive Development Group. As the group adds sales, a larger team will be necessary at Brown & Brown of Kentucky's office building opened in early 2017, on the Adair County Veterans Memorial Bypass. With that facility, some 25 high paying jobs were added in the 5,000 s.f facility.

Photo: Brown & Brown of Kentucky's new 5,000 s.f facility opened just over 1 year ago.

Introduction

Mike Neal, President of Brown & Brown of Kentucky, foresees immediate incremental growth at the center due to the parent company's acquisition, saying, "With the addition of this 30 plus new talented and quality teammates from Automotive Development Group, which drive sales and really give a strong presence in the Midwest, this acquisition will continue the need to build a larger team here in our Columbia Commercial Insurance Service support team. The new team in the Midwest should also feed more business and these are integrated in into our Point of Sale Personal Lines Call Center in Adair County, so that should also drive more hiring as times goes along. This is the new building we opened a little over a year ago here in Columbia with the help of the Columbia/Adair County Economic Development Authority, Adair County Judge Executive Mike Stephens, Columbia Mayor Curtis Hardwick and the Kentucky Economic Development Cabinet.
