For some reason, people are more aware of the need to save resources than they are here. Where my sons live, home owners have a separate container for recyclables that goes out the same time as the garbage containers. Maybe we should be limited to ONE garbage container a week. Garbage amounts are limited if items are recycled. I do not think recycling is encouraged here as it is some places. Social workers and corrections officers get pay raises From Commonwealth News Center FRANKFORT, KY - (15 Aug 2016) - In an effort to retain and recruit social workers, and to fulfill Gov. Matt Bevin's pledge to increase the pay of our front line workers, social workers and family support employees across the Commonwealth of Kentucky will see an increase in their pay effective September 16, 2016. In his State of the Commonwealth address, Gov. Bevin pledged "...$4.8 million dollars over the next biennium to increase entry level and new hire salaries for people who are taking care of our most vulnerable citizens." That includes $3.3 million dollars for Social Workers and Family Support Employees, and $384, 900 for CHFS Correctional Workers. Dedra Brandenburg, Executive Director of Lee County Tourism and Economic Development, received a $7,000 grant through the Appalachian Regional Commission Flex-E-Grant program, which is administered by The Center for Rural Development.
