Cora Jane Gibson Rice, age 51, of Glasgow, KY, died Sunday, August 14, 2016 in Gradyville, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be held 11amCT, Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Demumbrum Cemetery. Visitation will be after 9amCT, Wednesday at the funeral home.



Carla Jane Gibson Rice, 51, Glasgow, KY (1964-2016)


She was born December 30, 1964. She was the daughter of the late Harvey and Maudie Ice Gibson. She died Sunday, August 14, 2016, in Gradyville, Adair County, KY, at the age of 51 years, seven months, and 15 days.

She is survived by:
  • Three children: Harvey Lee Pennington of Glasgow, KY; Michelle Suver of Columbia, KY; and Brandon Lee Pennington of Cookeville, TN

  • Three brothers: William T. Gibson of Summer Shade, KY; Larry C. Gibson of Brandenburg, KY; and Rick Gibson of Louisville, KY

  • One sister: Elizabeth McCoy of Glasgow, KY
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Cordell Rice; and eight brothers and sisters, Lonnie E. Gibson, Sharon Gibson, Betty S. Gibson, Michael A. Gibson, Jim Roland Gibson, Harvey Gibson, Jr., Carla J. Harbough and Kenton Joe Gibson.
