Most Columbia, KY Restaurants are having special Sweetheart Meals for Valentine's Day Dinner tonight. They're in the What's Cooking Section today for Betty's OK Country Cooking and Pablo's Mexican Grill on Campbellsville Road; TaP's Diner on the Square in Columbia, and the Circle R Restaurant on Russell Road. All are having special sweets for the Sweethearts. This Sweetheart Cake was baked especially for tonight by Pam Miller at TaP's Diner.

CAUD Boil Water Advisory in effect Cane Valley area

A boil water advisory, Issued at 3:10pmCT, Thursday, February 14, 2013, is in effect for consumers of Columbia Adair Utilities District for customers on
Cane Valley Road, Cane Valley School Road, Day Lily Lane and Steve Breeding Road.
The advisory has been issued due to main line leak. Following such an event, the potential exists for bacteriological contamination of the water supply therefore this Boil Water Advisory has been issued as a precautionary measure. Until further notice, boil all water used for drinking and cooking, bringing the water to a rolling boil for three minutes before using. This advisory will remain in effect until the situation has been corrected and test results have shown the water to be of an acceptable quality. Helen Turner, Adair County, KY (1921-2013)

She was from highly regarded Adair County, KY, ancestry and the matriarch of a distinguished family. She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Dorcus Bottoms Goodin of Knifley, and the widow of J. Ormal Turner. She leaves 17 direct living descendants. She was a faithful member of the Columbia First Church of the Nazarene and attended as long as her health permitted. She was a homemaker and is warmly remembered by the many who were entrusted to her childcare over the years.

17 Cheer Squads to compete in Regionals at Adair Co. High

The ACHS cheerleaders will be hosting the annual Cheer Ltd CANAM Regional Cheerleading competition. There are 17 performances scheduled this Saturday February 16, 2013. Competition begins at 1pmCT/2pmET, with doors opning at 11:30amCT, at Adair Co. High School's John Burr Memorial Gymnasium, 526 Indian Drive, Columbia, KY 42728. Man arrested on drug charges after Columbia, KY traffic stop

19 year old faces multiple charges

On Wednesday February 13, 2013, at approximately 4:30pmCT. Columbia Police Officer Brad Scholl conducted a traffic stop on a Blue 2000 Chevrolet pickup located on Jamestown Street in the limits of Columbia. As a result of the stop 19 year old Joshua Dial was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree ( Heroin) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Dial was lodged in Adair County Regional Jail. Officer Scholl was assisted by CPD Sgt. Gary Roy. Ofc. Joshua Brockman
