Letter: Dairies on Johnson School Road Charles Marshburn writes: What are the names of those dairies that no longer exist on Johnson School Road? --CharlesComments re article 108240 Letter Number of dairy farms in question Charles: I'm not sure, the dairies had names other than the owners' . . . Paul and Christine Frankum, David and Janet Sharpe, a Compton couple milked at the barn on Chester Shelton's property, I can't remember the farmer's name who owned the farm down the road past there (now owned by the Sheltons), Paul Duvall had milk cows, as did, I think, the Cheathams. The Loy dairy, now owned by Darrell and Peggy Loy, is the only farm still producing milk. I can't remember if Elbert Frankum milked or just had beef cattle. I'm not sure if the farmer down the road past Elbert's house had dairy cattle or not. -- Joyce Coomer 2020-01-03 08:09:16 | Comments | Printable version | See topic Letters and Reader Feedback
