There are now 817 dogwoods committed. The latest to ask for dogwoods include: - J.D. Harper, who wants 25 dogwoods for the Circle R and for his home. - MR. and MRS. CHARLES SPARKS, who want 5 dogwoods for their home on Greensburg Street. - MR. AND MRS. JAMES E. SHIRLEY, who want 10 trees which they will plant in memory of Richard Shirley on their farm at Bliss. - RAMONA and JOE LYNN BARBEE, 15 trees for their home and other properties. - HARRY and BEA BEARD, 5 dogwoods in memory of George Jr. Staples, to be planted at the new West Lake Cumberland Regional Library. Wayne Livesay, Adair County Extension Agent, says that he believes the Extension Service will have a dogwood expert to travel to McMinnville to assist in buying the dogwoods on February 2. LWC Men's basketball tops CU 77-63 By Brady Budke The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team defeated Campbellsville University 77-63 on Saturday evening at Biggers Sports Center. The Blue Raiders caught fire from the field in the second half, connecting on 17-of-34 shooting for a 50 percent field goal percentage. The victory over the Tigers puts the Lindsey Wilson at 1-0 in the Mid-South Conference. Mavis Dye Price, 86, Columbia, KY (1933-2019) Mrs. Price was a member of the Columbia Christian Church and a retired School Teacher serving Adair County Schools for over 30 years. Mavis Dye Price of Columbia passed away on Friday, December 6, 2019, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY. She was 86 years old. Funeral services will be held at 11amCT on Tuesday, December 10, 2019, at the Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Bro. Rick Shelton officiating. LWC Women's Basketball fall 86-65 to top-ranked CU By Brady Budke The No. 15-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team was defeated by No. 1-ranked Campbellsville 86-65 on Saturday afternoon at Biggers Sports Center. Turnovers hurt the Blue Raiders in the contest, as they recorded their season-high of 22 against a tough Lady Tiger defense. Reagan Turner scored a game-high 21 points on 6-of-14 shooting as Haeli Howard finished with 15 points of her own. DeAsia Outlaw added 12 points and seven rebounds, while J'Nayah Hall chipped in 10 points and eight boards. The Blue Raiders shot 42.9 percent from the floor as they connected on 24-of-56 attempts. The Lindsey Wilson defense forced 17 turnovers, but the Lady Tigers shot 47 percent on 31-of-66 shooting.
