Pettell posts national A-standard qualifying throw By Brady Budke Lexington, KY - Paige Pettell posted a national A-standard qualifying throw to lead the Lindsey Wilson women's indoor track & field team at the University of Kentucky Jingle Bells Open on Friday at the Nutter Fieldhouse. Pettell posted a fifth place finish in the shot put with a throw of 13.56 meters, which surpassed the A-standard limit of 13.45 meters. Cram the Cruiser tomorrow in Russell Springs Kentucky State Police troopers, officers, and volunteers will be on hand at Kroger, 181 S. Highway 127 Russell Springs, KY, between 10amCT and 3pmCT on Sunday, December 8, 2019, to collect donations for Cram the Cruiser. KSP's annual 'Cram the Cruiser' Holiday food drive helps donate thousands of pounds of food to families across the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Letter: Zoning helps make a city looked cared for Comments re photo 86131 Possible buildings for 511 Burkesville Street Columbia By Yvonne Kolbenschlag I am interested in the appearance of Columbia as well as thinking about problems cities need to deal with. Cities have become hot spots with asphalt paving in parking lots reflecting heat and causing runoff/drainage problems. The run off water is polluted with chemicals from fuel from cars parked there. It bothers me when I think of areas covered with asphalt especially if in residential areas. The zoning board members have training every three years learning from professional persons telling of current matters and zoning requirements. Members on a zoning board follow rules that have been established, not always easy when requests for a zone change affects friends/relatives. Zoning rules are needed for many reasons -one is for protection of residents whose property may be worth less once a commercial business locates next to them. It was a grown up eye sore to Columbia before he cleaned it off. A great improvement to the looks of the area for sure. It is his land. He cleaned it up with his money. LWC Men's Soccer falls to Central Methodist By Christopher Coombs Irvine, CA - The No. 7 Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team fell to No. 1 Central Methodist in the NAIA National Tournament Semifinals by a 2-0 final score on Friday evening. The Blue Raiders (16-4-1) outpaced the Eagles 16-9 in shots but it was Central Methodist (24-1-0) who held a 4-3 advantage in shots on goal.
