Helicopter door lands on Radcliffe home

By Becca Owsley, The News-Enterprise

A Radcliff woman had a surprise land Saturday morning on her Hill Street home that is odd enough to be mistaken for an insurance commercial. Lynn Brown was sitting at her dining room table around 9:30 a.m. Saturday drinking coffee when she said she heard a "boom, boom."

Brown sat for a minute and then heard helicopters flying low. She came to the door and didn't notice anything. Brown then checked to make sure he vehicle was OK. She thought maybe the helicopters had lost something in the woods and were looking for it. She sat back down to finish her coffee and called her son-in-law, still wondering if something hit her house. Her son-in-law Barry came over and gave her some strange news.

Robert Bell writes: Come and see my town, Creelsboro

By Robert Bell, Creelsboro native

On September 14, 2019, Creelsboro, KY will once again be booming with lots of people and memories from days gone by. This past November several that I grew up with got together and formed a "memories of Creelsboro" committee.

I was born in the center of Creelsboro, in a little red house next to the Creelsboro Bank and across the street from my grandparent's store. We lived there until my parents decided to build a house on the Bell family farm.

When I was growing up, there was a bank, post office, Irvin's Store, Polston's Grocery, two churches and a school in Creelsboro.
