Elizabeth Sullivan is Taylor County Distinguished Young Woman

Campbellsville High School senior Elizabeth Sullivan has been named the Taylor County Distinguished Young Woman.

Sullivan, along with fellow seniors Reagan Knight, Hayley Stapleton and Abbie Dickens and 10 students from Taylor County High School, competed in the 2019 DYW program on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018. In addition to being named the DYW for 2019, Sullivan won scholastic, talent and interview preliminary awards.

Euline Bowe, 76, Columbia, KY (1942-2018)

Euline was a devout Christian and longtime active member of the First Baptist Church, and later Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Montpelier, KY, where she served in many other church functions, including a soloist and prayer warrior. She worked at Osh Kosh and for the KY Dept of Parks, and owned/managed numerous local businesses in Columbia.

Euline Bowe, 76, of Columbia, died Friday, September 14, 2018 at 1:40pmCT at her home.

Visitation will be after 5pmCT on Tuesday, September 18, 2018. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 1pmCT at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville St, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Bobby L. Bowe delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in Allen Cemetery in Cumberland County.

LWC Women's soccer 4-1 over Olivet

The No. 23-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team defeated Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) 4-1 on Saturday at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.

Alicia Thoresen, Delfina Santellan, Sina Cavelti and Emelie Liljered each scored a goal for the Blue Raiders (2-1-1). Savanah Simpson, Cavelti, Yvonne Ploeg and Thoresen had an assist apiece. Lindsey Wilson outshot the Tigers (0-6-1) 17-5 and held a 7-1 advantage in shots on goal. Jovana Ivanovic recorded her first win of the season in net for the Blue Raiders.

Michael Lewis Richardson, 61, Liberty, KY (1957-2018)

Mike worked hard to provide for his family, he was a farmer who took pride in his home and farm at Poplar Hill for 41 years. Mike enjoyed sports with a passion for over 20 years he had coached his kids, nephews, nieces and grandchildren in basketball. Mike was a vivid wrestling and U.K. fan.

Michael Lewis (Mike) Richardson age 61, of Liberty, KY passed away on Thursday September 13th, 2018 at Baptist Health Lexington.

Visitation will be held 5pmET till 9pmET Saturday September 15th, 2018 and after 9amET Sunday September 16th, 2018 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel, 142 KY-49, Liberty, KY. Funeral Services will be held at 2pmET Sunday September 16th, 2018, at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Creech Richardson, Bro. Chris Hatter and Bro. Gary Vest officiating. Burial will be in the Willow Springs Cemetery.

For months we had been planning our annual beach trip. The week before the trip, I spent most of it in a doctor's office or at my chiropractor's office trying to get my bad knee (the one I need to be replaced) in good enough shape to walk from the house to the car without limping. No matter the number of shots or the adjustments or the dry needling or the massages I had, the knee just refuses to give me a break. "What's wrong with your knee?" meaningful friends ask when I'm holding the side of a wall to get from one room to the next? The only thing keeping me out of surgery is time and Time has just about caught up to me. My knee is my enemy.

Raymond Eugene Appleby, 82, Burkesville, KY (1935-2018)

He was of Christian faith, a member of Highland Chapel United Methodist Church, a Kentucky Colonel, a House Inspector for H.U. D., and an Evangelist.

Raymond Eugene Appleby of Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, September 14, 2018, at the Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville, Kentucky, having attained the age of 82 years, 9 months, and 12 days.

The Funeral service will be conducted on Monday, September 17, 2018 at 2pmCT in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main St, Burkesville, KY. Burial will be in the Burkesville Cemetery in Burkesville, Kentucky. The family will receive friends after 2pmCT on Sunday, September 16, 2018 until the funeral hour on Monday.

FM2 offering green beans, corn, tomatoes, peppers and more

TODAY at the MARKET: Selections at FM2, Sat 15 Sep, 2018

Holly Kerns is an example of what you'll find at the Farmers Market on the Square today, with these items reported in: Green beans, Bodacious corn, A few tomatoes, Peppers, Squash, and Pumpkins.

Caitlin reported that her Dad, Darrell Bunnell, Of Coview Farm will be at the market with Tomatoes, Yellow Squash, Eggplant, Corn & Potatoes today.

At the Farmers market on the Square Blackaby Hill Farm will have sweet potatoes both red and white, a variety of peppers, butter nut squash, raw local honey. The jams include Zippy Zucchini marmalade, blackberry, blackberry lime, and Honeyed yellow tomato butter. We also have chocolaty sweet potato cake and sweet potato crumb cake.

Blackaby Hill Farm grill is open at the Farmers market on the Square this morning, we're serving breakfast burritos, chicken Spiedie sandwiches, steak sandwiches, and brats.

More will be added as we know of additional items available from 8amCT until 1pmCT.
