Those Cataracts!

Like fourteen people before him that day, Guy had cataract surgery last week. Three weeks ago, he had the right eye done and last week was in the other one. The first surgery went as smooth as silk. He hopped out of the wheelchair declaring he could see better than he had when he was a boy. "Keep those dark glasses on in the sun," I warned him. I had been through this years ago and knew the routine. He was a good patient; it's easy to be good when all goes well.

Joe Barbee: Flat intersections between hills recipe for disaster

Using 'Good sense' conflict between commercial traffic and local traffic should have been obvious.
Comments re article 99373 Janice England suggests overpass over KY 61 for added safety

By Joe L. Barbee

Thank you so much Janice, for your insight to the problem.

When our highway planners did not figure out you cannot build a bypass around a town to get through traffic out of thirty five mile per hour traffic and stop lights, and include flat intersections.

You are dealing with two completely different trains of thought and transportation.

Marsha Walker: Speeding is a serious traffic problem

Marsha Walker writes:
I have no doubt that speeding is our most serious traffic problem. From our home on Edmonton Road to the city limits on Burkesville St. is where I notice it the most. Cars fly by our house both ways all day. I am certain we need more patrolling, but I know it would be costly. I think if everyone would just use common sense driving, we would all be much safer. --Marsha Walker
