Squarecrow, Pumpkin festival time nigh - FM2 ready

2018-09-10 - Columbia, Adair County, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
For just $2 worth of pumpkins at the Saturday, September 8, 2018 Farmers Market on the Square, this is a reminder for many of us, of the happiest time of the year upon us: Fall and the fall harvest, the Pumpkin Festival, and harvest Farmers Markets, Ironweed & Golden Rod season, and so importantly, the return of the Squarecrows in Downtown Columbia. These baby pumpkins were 50 cents each from David Jones at the Big Black Dog stall Saturday. Haven't seen one this size carved into a jack-o-lantern but it will be interesting to see if that would work - we'll know after getting advice from Hailey & Tillie, who know best about these things. The vintage made in Japan little man is either a totally valuable antique collected by Aunt Gin Hughes and passed down to Geniece Marcum and then to Linda, or he's a precious 25 cent doo-dad purchased at Edmonton's Village Shop by Geniece and passed down. Clicking Read More accesses the signup announcement for dibs on locations for this year's Squarecrow spots around the public square for the best odds on winning the highly coveted People's Choice Squarecrow award. - EW
