Fundraising meal at Victory Community Church 28 Oct 2017

Victory Community Church, located at 1165 Russell Road, Columbia, KY 42728, will be hosting a Fundraising Meal on Saturday, October 28, 2017 from 10:30am-1pmCT (while supplies last). Donations will be accepted for the meal of meat, 2 sides, dessert and a drink. Those wishing to pre-order may leave a voicemail at: 270 250-1836. Dollie Pauline Grant, 89, Glensfork, Adair Co., KY (1928-2017)

She attended Church of the Nazarene at Glensfork for 50 plus years, had lots of friends, was a homemaker and loved to garden and will be sadly missed. She was the daughter of the late Ivy & Polly Bunch Cape, and the widow of Oscar Grant, her husband of 63 years. She lives a large, highly regarded family to carry on her legacy.

CU to host events on 'The Day That Changed the World'

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -- Campbellsville University will celebrate 500 years of the Protestant Reformation Thursday through Friday, Oct. 26-27 and Monday through Tuesday, Oct. 30-31. Times vary, all Eastern times, so the number for more information is below.

Dr. Joe Early Jr., associate professor of church history and theology at Campbellsville University, said, "Reformation Day is the day that would eventually give rise to all Protestant denominations and practices we enjoy such as priesthood of all believers, justification by faith, and that clergy could be married."

A few days ago marked the birthday of a sweet friend who passed before attaining her 50th birthday. At Western, Debi was my and Mrs. G's dear friend as well as my a co-worker in the Advising Center, and, on occasion, a co-conspirator in campus capers. Her decidedly off-beat sense of humor was chicken soup for the soul, and her wit, well-seasoned with wry observation and Hart County drollery, brightened many a day in the Advising Center.

Flu cases can now be tracked by county, by number, every week

Officials with the Kentucky Department for Public Health have announced the availability of an online weekly influenza surveillance report used to gauge current flu activity circulating in Kentucky.

The Weekly Influenza Surveillance Report is compiled by DPH officials and provided to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as part of statewide flu surveillance efforts. Click here for the weekly report as it is updated each Friday before noon.

Lindsey Wilson again proved superior in strength and general playing ability, by defeating Paducah College by a score of 70-61 last Friday night.

In this, Lindsey's first home game, a near capacity crowd watched the Blue Raiders, piloted by Coach Joe Conforti, take their fifth consecutive win, against no losses.
