Ben Burris reports on conditions at Bowling Green

By Ben Burris
Personal Commentary

The Bowling Green Massacre

I just wanted to share with you and your gentle readers that I went to Bowling Green last night. The people are so strong. They almost acted as if nothing had happened!

There was only a 20 minute wait at Olive Garden.

There was also a beautiful candlelight vigil in front of Old Navy for the prices that had been cut down on their winter merchandise and for those prices that had been slashed during their final winter clearance.

It all gave me hope. - Ben Burris

Page Candler: Mystery Russell Co., KY plant ID -Running Cedar

Comments re photo 70949 Green plant near Lake Cumberland shore a mystery

Page Candler writes:
Looks a bit like running cedar. My father used to bring some of this to the house for Christmas decorations. --Page Candler
Inspired by receipt of Page Candler's answer, we're adding this link: Wikipedia Running Cedar, which calls the plant a club moss, and says that the plant was once commercially raised to be sold as Christmas decorations, as Page Candler suggests. And for those interested in renewable energy sources, see Wikipedia: Pyréolophore which, as everybody knows, was the first internal combustion engine. It was powered by a derivative of a club moss. - EW
