Shaggy Dog Story to end all shaggy dog stories A Happy Reunion, though: It was a little over three hours of painful separation from Maggie Mahan and her two pound mini-Australian Shepherd. When the unusual Happy Reunion brought them back together again, it had nothing to do with ColumbiaMagazine.com and a community of caring animal lovers. It must have been, Maggie Mahan postulates, to the credit of lessons from her cats. Lola is safe and sound and hungry Click on headline for the complete story with a photo of Lola, Home Again By Ed Waggener This may be the most unusual lost dog story ever on ColumbiaMagazine.com. This afternoon, Bo Murphy called to introduce Maggie Mahan, whose dog, a two-pound mini-Australian Shepherd was missing. A few moments later Maggie sent photos and a classified ad to post on ColumbiaMagazine.com. That was at 4:34pmCT. She said that Maggie had run away when frightened by a loud motorcycle. The photo of the little dog was of an absolutely adorable dog. It was easy to see why she was almost frantic. At 5:33pm, Maggie wrote, "She normally sticks tight to my feet, but she was too scared before I could do much. I think she might have gone towards Greensburg Street or on the Square." intending for that to be posted with the message, "Please call me if you see her." Von Price sends a prayer for Dr. Phil Aaron Dr. Phil Aaron was both of my parents doctor for many years. I remember the night my Mother had an aneurysm to burst on her brain. I remember him telling me that he had done everything he could and he wanted to have her transported to Louisville for more testing and specialist there and maybe they could do something for her. That was on Wednesday and she passed away on Monday morning the following week. But his compassion for every one was one thing I will never forget. I pray that God will touch him and heal. May God give the Family Peace and Comfort from the pain they are enduring. He is such a wonderful Doctor that he followed in his fathers footsteps. The Doctors of the Aaron Family have had a tremendous impact on Adair County for sure. BJ Hagy: Go get 'em, Jelaine Harlow Writer supports Smoke Free Ordinance for Adair County Comments re article 83606 Students from ACHS working for Smoke Free Ordinance I applaud Jelaine Harlow and the students of ACHS for their efforts to get the Smoke Free Ordinance going for Adair County. I would like to redirect them back to an article I had written to Columbia Magazine back on 08/08/2013 (BJ Hagy finds AC Schools receiving tobacco subsidies ironic). Maybe it would be instructive for them to delve directly into an Adair County government entity to see if the are still in receipt of government tobacco subsidies for the Adair County Board of Education. - BJ Hagy Thanks, BJ Hagy - It would be a major economic boost to Adair County were such an ordinance to be passed, either by the City of Columbia, or better by Adair County Fiscal Court. As for the Adair County School District, tobacco is no longer raised on its campus. The District is, for the most part, a trend setter for better health as it fulfills it's mission of being the "engine driving the Adair County economy." - EW 2016-06-04 05:41:11 | Comments | Printable version
