Driver injured when fire truck overturns in Green Co., KY

Driver air lifted to University of Louisville with non-life threatening injuries.

GREENSBURG, KY - (Fri 3 Jun 2016) - Kentucky State Police investigated an injury collision involving a Greensburg fire truck on Columbia Highway west of Greensburg today at 5:45pmCT.



Preliminary investigations indicate 21-year old Jared Kelly of Greensburg was operating a 1995 Ford Fire Truck on Columbia Highway. Kelly was responding to a business fire on J.T. Jefferies Road, when he left the roadway and overturned onto Edmonton Road.

Kelly was air lifted to University of Louisville Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Speed was said to be a factor in the collision.

Sr. Trooper Boston Hensley investigated the collision. Sr. Tpr Hensley was assisted at the scene by Green County Fire, EMS, Sheriff's Office, Greensburg Police, Air Evac 43 and the Kentucky Highway Department.
