One reader's opinion: Republican caucus not election

One reader's take on the petition to void the March 22, 2016 Wet-Dry Election

The Republican caucus doesn't pass the common sense sniff test as a bonafide "election," based on - if nothing else - KRS 120.005(1), Kentucky's straightforward legal description of a ballot (the underlining for emphasis writer's):
"A 'ballot' or 'official ballot' means the voting machine ballot label, ballot cards, paper ballots, an absentee ballot, a special ballot, or a supplemental paper ballot which has been authorized for the use of the voters in any primary, general or special election by the Secretary of State or the county clerk[.]"

David Jones recognizes citizen support for schools

'Ask not what your school district can do for you. Ask what you can do for Adair County Schools' - To paraphrase President John F. Kennedy.
The full school board report for April 21, 2016 is now being prepared for posted. Several photo outtakes are already online.
David Jones, Adair County Schools Maintenance Director, recognized an unselfish and generous act at last night's meeting of the Adair County Fiscal Court. "I just can't let this go by," he said. "When our tractor tore up," he said, "Charles Giles, the Mahindra dealer, insisted on sending us a loaner." He said that his crews now have some 100 acres to mow, and with end-of-school activities reaching a peak in April and May, keeping the grounds looking good is of highest importance.

Jones said that when he asked what the District would owe, Mr. Giles told him he wouldn't accept any payment for it. "It's the least I can do for the schools," Mr. Jones reported the benefactor saying. The recognition came at the April 21, 2016 regular session of the board. - EW
