Bro. Dewey Cooper, 93, Russell Co., KY (1922-2016)

He was an evangelist and a member of Fellowship United Baptist Church in Allardt, TN. He was a member of a highly regarded Russell County, KY family. He was the son of the late David & Zella Cooper and the widower of Margie Black Cooper. He leaves seven direct living descendants.

Bro. Dewey Cooper, 93, of Russell Springs, died Friday, April 22, 2016 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, KY.

Funeral service for Bro. Dewey Cooper will be 2pmCT, Sunday, April 24, 2016 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Dilmon Stanley, Bro. Ronnie Peters, and Bro. Rick Cross officiating. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Saturday, April 23, 2016, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Jamestown Cemetery, 201 N Main Street, Jamestown, KY.



Bro. Dewey Cooper, 93, Russell Co., KY (1922-2016)


He was born September 25, 1922 in Russell County, KY. He was the son of the late David & Zella Cooper. He died Friday, April 22, 2016, in Danville, Boyle County, KY, at the age of 93 years, six months, and 28 days.

He was an evangelist and a member of Fellowship United Baptist Church in Allardt, TN.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Back Cooper; a grandson, Clint Conner; a brother, Dr. Olaf Cooper; and a sister, Judith Gordon. Survivors include:
  • Two children: Rickey Lynn (LaDonna) Cooper, Liberty, KY; and Deborah Kay (Danny) Conner, Jamestown, KY

  • Four grandchildren

  • One great grandchild

  • Sister: Betty Kinnett, Jamestown, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews
The family requests memorials to God's Food Pantry or Back Pack Program. These can be made at the funeral home.
