Billy Joe Fudge awaiting Telling II of Cumberland Parkway

Does not appreciate JIM's Suspended Segue at the end of his last artickle. And the only other information we've been able to find out, even with enhanced interrogation - cruel as that is - is that the name of famous ol' green 1963 Valiant was "Betsy."

Billy Joe Fudge writes:
Hey Jim, I loved your "Telling" but don't much appreciate your suspended segue. By definition, it is "a smooth transition" but I'm having to hold my breath, awaiting "Cumberland Parkway, Telling II! - Billy Joe Fudge

JIM: Memories of commutes on the Cumberland Parkway

So many stories packed in 25 years - from the Cumberland Parkway's opening in 1973 until 1999 - regularly traveling the 62 miles from Russell Springs to the Parkway's Western Terminus.

The snowy day photo of the LBN Parkway you posted recently (left) brought back a lot of memories.

I regularly ran the Cumberland Parkway (as we greybeards will forever know it) from Russell Springs to the western terminus at I-65 from the time it opened in the summer of 1973 until we pulled up stakes and moved north seventeen years ago.

Poetry of Robert Stone: Words of mine that never stop

Words of mine that never stop
~ a sonnet on the ninth anniversary of meeting a young artist
The day we met no future was foreseen.
You handed me the painting of the chime,
I gave you asking price agreed between.
To hear your senior talk would be last time.

Small world had some unlikely things in store.
You were the one who showed my friend around
when he for me walked through an unlocked door
to check some far from me nearby him ground.

Surprise that twice we each were far from home
but very close the friends we visited.
Creative arts the world I would we roam
but something seems to bar the quizzes thread.

Nine years of words of mine that never stop
and your advice that patience be my prop.
~ Robert Stone, 12 February 2016
