FRYSC staff members ask residents to contact legislators Campbellsville Independent School's Family Resource and Youth Services Center staff members are asking parents, guardians and community members to contact legislators in support of FRYSC funding.

In the proposed budget for Kentucky, funding for FRYSC centers has been reduced by 9 percent for the next fiscal year, with 4.5 percent coming in the current school year.

According to FRYSCKy officials, this cut will have a major impact on FRYSC programming and staffing.

"It is very important that you, your families, your community partners, teachers or other school staff, and anyone else willing to voice support for our program to take action. We need to communicate the negative impact this will have one our centers' ability to help strengthen and stabilize the most vulnerable families and students of our Commonwealth," FRYSCKy President Brian Akers said.

Residents are encouraged to call the House of Representatives and Senate from Friday, February 12, to Monday, February 15, 2016, at 11pmET. The FRYSCKy Coalition challenges residents to flood representatives and senators with phone calls.

The number to call is 800-372-7181. For information about legislators, visit www.lrc.ky.gov. To find out more about Campbellsville Family Resource Centers, call coordinator Sue Crabtree at 270-789-2718.
