Charles Marshburn explains Free Verse, a literary term

Self-proclaimed Poet Laureate of Greater Gadberry writes:
Surely Mr. Fudge recognizes "free verse"! Didn't cost anyone a red cent! - Charles Marshburn
Thanks, Mr. Marshburn for the scholarship. That should put Dr. Fudge in his place, but what about the Bloomsbury Group Knifley Group, the most esteemed group of critics there is? Any put-down for them?

Unfortunately, county-wide strife on setter controversy

Now, heavy thinker in Knifley has weighed in. All points in the county - Green Hills, Greater Fairplay, and now ever peaceful Knifley embroiled in issue - which has now shifted to Poetry - . Two issues: 1) Whose family will get the noble English-and-properly named Setter, Cooper, and 2) Should Charles Marshburn be the poet laureate of Greater Fairplay??? - CM

The COF writes:
Aw, sure look it!

From Londonderry to Kinsale, the good folk are saying "Fair play, sleeveen, na next the yanks will be a tellin' about the hen's teeth they developed.

Billy Joe McFudge weighs in on setter controversy

Getting to the Real Issue: We can settle the Irish v English Setter controversy. Kim Sallee had it right, as anyone who bothered to read her description in the cutline and CM Classified would know. But in a rare error on the part of a never-to-be-revealed CM headlinerist, who had admittedly OD'ed on Anthony Bourdain's Dublin Layover episode - and maybe on Guinness - the word "Irish" was mistakenly entered for "English" and poor Cooper, as fine an English setter as ever roamed the shire, was branded what he was not. Moral: No more Anthony Bourdain, no more Guinness for any CM headlinerists. Fortunately, for those of us who are unhappy if we wake up with nothing to fuss about, the underlying issue of what's good, what's not, in Poetry lives on. That should be the Controversy of the Day, beginning with this critique by expert BJ Fudge. - EW

Billy Joe Fudge writes:
Mr. Marshburn, I'm having a tidbit of trouble deciphering the exact "metering" in your poem. However, the heavy innuendo somewhat veiled by the complexity of verse certainly was apparent to me also in that the color of this beautiful animal leads one to believe that the listed ethnicity might be somewhat askew.

Another clue to this anomaly is the name, "Cooper." I mean, come on now. An Irish Setter might very well answer to Murphy, Wilson, Dunne, Keane, Scott, Flanagan, Stewart or Sweeney but I cannot imagine a Red, dyed in the wool, Irish Setter would "comb ronning" to the English name, Cooper. - Billy Joe Fudge
