ACSO officers arrest man who fled alleged crime scene on ATV

Arrest follows events which occurring on Loren Collins Road, Thu 3 Dec 2015 in mid-morning; fugitive arrested at 5:36pmCT 3 Dec 2015, following tip that he was on Cape Road, on Melson Ridge is southern Adair County. Suspect lodged in Adair County Regional Jail on no bond warrant

On Thursday December 3, 2015 at 9:50amCT, Deputy Aaron Rainwater and Sheriff Harrison Moss were dispatched to a domestic assault in progress 11 miles south of Columbia on Loren Collins Road.



Upon arrival 26 year old Jonathan Grant of Columbia, led deputies on a short chase on a stolen 2008 Honda ATV. Grant traveled through a field where he was able to elude deputies.

It was determined that Grant forced entry into a residence on Lorin Collins Road where he assaulted a female living at the residence.

After a lengthy investigation a warrant was obtained for Grant's arrest on charges of Fleeing or evading police 1st degree motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs/alcohol 2nd offense, criminal mischief 1st degree, burglary 2nd degree, theft of a motor vehicle over $5000.00, criminal trespassing 1st degree, assault 4th degree (domestic violence) and unlawful imprisonment 1st degree.

On December 3, 2015 at 5:36pmCT, Deputy Brandon Hitch, Deputy Josh Durbin and Sheriff Harrison Moss acted on a tip and were able to locate Grant at a resident on Cape Road in Columbia.

Grant was arrested by Deputy Brandon Hitch and lodged in the Adair County Jail on a no bond warrant.

Issuance of warrants and/or arrests are not findings of guilt. An individual charged by police or in a warrant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding.
