Free 10 week exam prep class for Electricians starts 5 Jan 2015

Classes start January 5, 2015

Local Electrical Inspector Chris Bennett will be hosting a 10 week exam prep class to Electricians that are interested in taking their master or journeyman electricians test. This class is for people who have been employed in the electrical trade or have completed a 2 year degree program from KCTCS in an electrical field and want to become a licensed electrician.

The cost of the class will be free.

The class will be held at Adair County High School's Lake Cumberland Area Technology Center, 526 Indian Drive, Columbia KY. Classes begin January 5, 2015 at 5pmCT. Students will need a copy of the 2014 National Electrical Code, scratch paper and a calculator. For more information please call Chris Bennett @ 270-378-1036

Whitis himself is a beekeeper and has conducted multiple Beekeeping educational programs in southern Kentucky over the past 13 years.

Downtown Bridge, Louisville, to be named for Abraham Lincoln

Gov. Beshear makes executive order naming the bridge for the the 16th President. The Governor said that Lincoln was perhaps the most important single figure in American history, and worthy of the commemoration for his connections to the two states spanned by the new bridge.

The latest word is that the Christmas Lights and Decorations will be put up starting Wednesday morning, 2 December 2015.

Usually, City Clerk Rhonda Loy said, the town is decorated on the Monday or Tuesday following Thanksgiving, but, because of rainy weather, she said, it was put off.

Mike Newton, Director of Plant Operations at Lindsey Wilson College, said that the Lindsey Wilson Lift operator, Taft Neal had received word from Donnie Rowe, City Streets Superintendent, that the tentative day this year - because of the rain - is Wednesday. I

Adair County Grand Jury returns indictments Tue 24 Nov 2015

Indictments brought against 7 individuals, from Columbia, Albany, and Russell Springs. Charges include drunk driving, assault, receiving stolen property, rape, forgery, and manufacturing methamphetamine.

NOTE: Indictments are considered formal charges. An indictment is not a finding of guilt. An individual charged by indictment is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding.
