Letter: Remembering Sandra Cilyok

Jim Garner writes:
Several years ago, Sandra was for a while one of my non-traditional age "kids" at WKU, as had been her sister Anna earlier. Sandra stopping by my office to talk or just to say hi always brightened my day. Although I hadn't thought of her name in a long time until seeing it today on ColumbiaMagazine, it jumped out as if we'd spoken only yesterday. --Jim Garner

Host parents Jeanne and Charles Marshburn at Lindsey IEW

Two more IEW Events today FRI 20 Nov 2015, at the Hodge Center for Discipleship, 402 Helen Flatt Drive, Columbia, KY

By Sabine Eastham, Director, International Studies, Lindsey Wilson College

Proud host parents, Jeanne and Charles Marshburn of Fairplay were at International Education Week activities on Thursday.

They became host parents this past August, extending their wonderful hospitality to international students as well as their families who come to visit (from across the world as well as for some relatives who live in America).

Charles quickly established himself by taking over the "runs" to the Social Security Office in Campbellsville and KY and to the Transportation Cabinet in Somerset. I hear he even schedules those events around Bentley's (dog beauty appointments!!

Students do not live with host parents by the way. Anyone interested in becoming a host part should contact Sabine Eastham at 270-384-8236 or easthams@lindsey.edu.
