LWC Softball advances as winner in NAIA World Series

Trampe's walk-off solo blast sends Lindsey Wilson Softball past Mobile at the NAIA World Series
The LWC Blue Raider softball team will play next in the NAIA Softball World Series, at 7pmCT, Monday 25 May 2015, at the Elizabeth & Irving Jensen Softball Complex, 1501 Morningside Avenue, Sioux City, IA against the winner of Auburn-Montgomery v Oregon Tech game.

SIOUX CITY, Iowa - The Lindsey Wilson softball team closed out the opening day of the 2015 NAIA Softball World Series in walk-off fashion with a 2-1 win over Mobile (AL) on Thursday night, 22 May 2015.

CU Softball falls in NAIA World Series

**UPDATE** - The search for Anthony Barbour and the missing 2 year old juvenile is still being conducted. The Kentucky State Police is working in cooperation with several Local, Federal, and other agencies, exhausting all leads and information gathered in this case. No new information is available for release at this time.

We are still asking that anyone with any information pertaining to this case or the whereabouts of Anthony Barbour or the missing juvenile to please call the Kentucky State Police Post 15 Columbia at 270-384-4796 or Post 3 Bowling Green at 270-782-2010.

Scottie Lee Pierce, 43, Columbia, KY (1971-2015)

He was the son of Janice Johnson Simpson and the late William Lee Pierce. His wife, Kathy Rabbeth Pierce, survives. He leaves three three direct and three step living descendants. He was a carpenter by trade.

Dan and Ginny Flanagan of Campbellsville, KY, were given a 50th wedding anniversary celebration recently by their sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren. The reception was held in the Campbellsville University Technology Training Center which is named for Virginia Ponser Flanagan. He was a native of Monroe County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of his death. He was a son of the late Frank Marrs & Mary Ida Thompson. His wife, Susan Miller, survives. He had worked as a welder for Stephens Mfg.

There are some things just worth talking about! Senior Aaran Taylor is not only a great student who is a pleasure to have in class, but he is also well spoken and always has a smile on his face. His academic record speaks for itself. Just an all around good kid, but there is something about Aaran many may not know. He has never missed a day of school. Aaran started school in the Adair County School System in preschool and has had perfect attendance his entire academic career.

Ed, thank you for acknowledging the Adair County Garden Club in your article.

The club works at the Trabue house every Wednesday morning with an average of 40 volunteer hours per month.

The roses have been beautiful this year.

The club takes care of several areas around the community, one being the Trabue gardens, the flower beds around the square, and the entrance and emergency room areas of the hospital.

We have recently started we working on a project for the library, more to come later on that project. If you want to get involved please call Donna Jones at 270-634-2125.

Ethelean Denson Keltner, 85 Coburg community, (1930-2015)


Her warm, generous smile brightened the days of all she met. Mrs. Keltner was a member of the Cane Valley Baptist Church, a retired Fruit of the Loom Employee with 27 years of service and a very active member of the Adair County Homemakers Club. She was a member of a highly regarded family. She was the daughter of the late Luther Thomas and Elnora Ballenger Denson and ht widow of Samuel Miller "Sambo" Keltner. She leaves 11 direct living descendants.

I'm especially proud, since I have a grandson, Josh Hardin, who played. I am proud of all the boys. They all put forth a good team effort and won.
