Two injured in separate I-65 accidents One is single vehicle accident at 97 mile point with minor injuries; second at 96.5 mile point is multi-vehicle accident involving four semi-trailers trucks with with one driver suffering injuries necessitating an airlift from the scene. Jeff Gregory, Public Affairs Officer Kentucky State Police Post 4, Elizabethtown, KY ELIZABETHTOWN, KY - Kentucky State Police Post 4 in Elizabethtown and KSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement worked two separate injury accidents just North of Elizabethtown on I-65 Tuesday afternoon, February 24, 2015. At approximately 3:50pmET, Bradley S. Neal (28) of Upton, KY, was traveling North on I-65 at athe 97 mile marker. For unknown reasons, the 2002 Ford vehicle he was operating ran off the roadway into the righthand shoulder and struck a rock wall causing the vehicle to overturn. Mr. Neal suffered minor injuries and was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital by ambulance. Salato Center reopens for its 20th anniversary on March 3, 2015 By Laurie Davison FRANKFORT, Ky. - The Salato Wildlife Education Center in Frankfort shakes off hibernation and reopens for its 20th year March 3. The center has added two new additions to its collection: a groundhog and a kestrel. These animals will be on display occasionally, and during program events. The kestrel, which is also known as a sparrow hawk, is actually the smallest falcon found in North America. While the kestrel is the smallest falcon, the groundhog is one of Kentucky's largest rodents. The staff at Salato has worked with both during the past year in preparation for programs at the center. Visitors can get an up close and personal look at Salato's newest additions, as well as a look at some other animals during its Meet a Critter event being held from 11 a.m. until noon (Eastern time) March 7. Near Mile Point 98 north of Elizabethtown, KY By Officer Jared Newberry, Public Affairs Officer Region 2 Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, Louisville, KY ELIZABETHTOWN, KY (3:27pmCT Tue 24 Feb 2015) - Kentucky State Police Post 4 CVE Division is investigating a crash involving multiple tractor and trailers that occurred at approximately 4pmCT today. According to preliminary reports the commercial vehicles crashed near the 98 mile point, while traveling northbound on Interstate 65 inside Hardin County. Injuries have been reported, however the extent of which are unknown at this time. Swimming Teams earn CSCAA Academic Honors By: Tyler Scott COLUMBIA, Ky. - The Lindsey Wilson men's and women's swimming teams have earned College Swimming Coaches Association of America's scholar All American honors for the 2014-15 fall semester, CSCAA officials recently announced. The Blue Raiders' men's team finished with the top grade point average of the three institutions that qualified for the award. The men's squad produced a 3.22 GPA during the Fall term. The Lindsey Wilson women were one of six NAIA institutions to achieve the honor. The women's team earned a 3.44 GPA. The Fall Team Scholar All American award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams, who have achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher in the fall semester or quarter.
