ECBWWWB IV: reminds Peggy Fudge of ACN, Donnie's days

John "Duck" Fudge ran Donnie's Drive-In for a while. and ECBWWWB IV elicited other precious memories from childhood, including a fascinating place for a your girl growing up at the Adair County News: I remember Bill Downs at the Linotype, Orley and Forrest (if memory hasn't failed) on the big press in the back, and Louis DeRossett running in and out, often with his big camera, on his way to or from a breaking story, or human interest item. It was a fascinating place for a kid, PEGGY FUDGE writes with more than a hint of a wonderful book we can only encourage her to write one day

By Peggy Fudge

Great history refresher, but can anyone provide pictures? BTW, my dad, John "Duck" Fudge, ran Donnie's Drive-in for a while.

Also, over the years, he ran a couple of pool rooms, where his chili became popular, and twice he had a bakery.

Drug use vs. Drug education: Link to article in USA today

There's an interesting article in USA Today about the effectiveness/ineffectiveness of drug testing vs the effectiveness of drug education: For colleges, does drug testing really prevent drug use? an article from last fall in USA today. It comes down on the side of education, not drug testing. The article above is a popular press one, but it does cite U.S. Department of Education findings on the efficacy of both approaches.
