Eugene (Bim) Poff, Casey County, KY (1931-2014)

He was a farmer and formerly attended Poplar Springs Baptist Church. "Bim" raised rabbit dogs and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a native of Casey County, KY, and was living in Casey County, KY at the time of his death. He was the son of hte late Alvin and Cleo Poff. His beloved wife of over 62 years, Mary Carter Poff, survives. He leaves 24 direct living descendants, spanning four generations.

Eugene "Bim" Poff passed away Thursday, August 21, 2014 at his home in Casey County, KY. He was 83.

Funeral services are 1:30pmCT/2:30pmET, Sunday, August 24, 2014 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Maupin officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Springs Cemetery. Visitation is 4pm-8pmCT/5pm-9pmET, Saturday, August 23, 2014, at the funeral home.



Eugene (Bim) Poff, Casey County, KY (1931-2014)

Born Wednesday, April 22, 1931 in Casey County, KY, he was the son of the late Alvin and Cleo Poff. He died Thursday, August 21, 2014, in Casey County, KY, at the age of 83 years, three months, and 29 days.

He was a farmer and formerly attended Poplar Springs Baptist Church. "Bim" raised rabbit dogs and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Mary Carter Poff, whom he married December 22, 1951, and the following:
  • A son: Donnie (and Kathy) Poff of Liberty, KY

  • Three daughters: Cynthia Long of Liberty, KY; Andrea Norman of Liberty, KY; and Sandra (and Greg) Dick of Russell Springs, KY

  • Nine grandchildren

  • Ten great-grandchildren

  • One great-great-grandchild

  • Two sisters: Juanita (and Ralph) Thompson of Liberty, KY; and Carol (and Garland) Wilson of Liberty, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Michael Eugene Poff; a son-in-law, Gerald Matthew Stargle; three brothers, William, Vernon and Andy Poff; and four sisters, Pearl Martin, Lillian Passmore, Ina Emerson, and Evelyn Mason.
