Tim Cocanougher withdraws from 11th Circuit Judges race

Neither candidate for 11th Circuit Court Judge has opposition in November

Tim Cocanougher, Springfield, KY, has withdrawn from the 11th Judicial Circuit Division I Judges race. The circuit includes Green, Marion, Taylor, and Washington Counties.

He would have been the only opposition for Todd Spalding, who will now be unopposed, and, barring unexpected circumstances, will be sworn in as the new 11th Circuit Court/Div I Judge in January. He will succeed Dan Kelley, who is retiring.

Date Issued: 7/21/2014. Time Issued; 9:30amCT. Time Posted: 9:42amCT.

A BOIL WATER ADVISORY is in effect for consumers of Columbia Adair Utilities District for customers
starting at the Justice Center up to the square and from Justice Center to 207 Merchant Street, from Campbellsville Street around the square to Bank of Columbia, and on Greensburg Street to the Jail and North Monroe Street.
The advisory has been issued due to main line leak.Following such an event, the potential exists for bacteriological contamination of the water supply therefore this Boil Water Advisory has been issued as a precautionary measure. Until further notice, boil all water used for drinking and cooking, bringing the water to a rolling boil for three minutes before using. This advisory will remain in effect until the situation has been corrected and test results have shown the water to be of an acceptable quality. 56 year old man dies of motorcycle accident injuries

The Russell County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal motorcycle mishap which occurred yesterday, Sunday, July 20, 2014, East of Russell Springs on KY 80. The RCSO says 56 year old Ricky Murray lost control of his bike. He was taken to Russell County Hospital died there a short time later. Russell County Deputy Coroner Mike Reynolds pronounced Murray deceased at 5:16pmCT, according to Russell County Dispatch. - Larry Smith, the writer is Operations Manager, Shoreline Communications
