Letter: Frugal and Fun Peggy Fudge writes: I love creative cooking like this. Most people can follow a recipe using a bag full of groceries, but this takes finesse. Comment: Picture at Hood Lodge Roosters are another campaign issue Lisa Greer writes: I love the picture and the caption used, the best campaign situation was when the rooster tried to flog me, and I came off the back porch after leaving a card. The resident wasn't home. I couldn't understand why Phillip was laughing so hard. I didn't see a dog anywhere. I got into the truck, and said, "Why are you laughing so hard?" he said. "Look beside you." And there at the door was a rooster, which had come out from under the porch and was chasing me, with his wings all spread. I asked Phil, "At exactly at what point were you planning on telling me? When you were rolling on the ground?"Comment about: Primary Election Secret: How Lisa won 2014-06-18 08:16:09 | Comments | Printable version
Lisa who? Charles Marshburn wonders There are two Lisas in Adair County. Everybody knows that. Context should make it know which one. - EW By Charles Marshburn Personal Commentary You refer to a lot of folks by their first name and the ever growing line of those "from off" are not seemingly privy to the identity of those of whom you speak. Is it too much to ask that you refer to folks by first AND last name? According to statistics more have left this area than have arrived and living in the past has never aided progress. Think about it. I know you don't get out much. - Charles Marshburn Thanks, I guess. - This Those not from off (and most From Off), know that I am slow - that it takes me 20 minutes to catch a joke, but I'm wondering already if I haven't just been slurred. Everybody - Certified Born-Again-Adair Countians and Never-ever- been-out-of-Adair Countians - knows there are two (2) Lisas: Lisa the Road Woman and candidate for County Clerk, and Lisa the Radio Woman. I just thought that there was enough context to know that this one is Lisa the Lisa the Road Woman and candidate for County Clerk. My only recourse may be to turn your case over to Johnny Vaughn, Dean of the Adair County Assimilation Academy. Next thing we know, you'll be asking a Metcalfe Countian, "Woodrow who?" I think there's a law against such ignorance in Edmonton. 2014-06-18 08:03:00 | Comments | Printable version

Incident at Family Dollar restores her faith in humanity There are good people left, writer finds after By Tiffany Kessler Don't give up on society yet...there ARE good people left! I apparently dropped my wallet out of the car last night while at Fiesta Mexico. Hours later I got a call from two strangers who had just got off work at Family Dollar (next door to the restaurant) - they had found it still sitting there in the parking lot and were graciously going to wait on me to come pick it up. Everything (debit cards and even cash that I rarely keep on hand) was inside! God Bless these two sweet women (Jen and Carmen - didn't get their last names). They not only returned my wallet, they kind of restored my faith in humanity...and that's priceless. - Tiffany Kessler 2014-06-18 04:37:43 | Comments | Printable version Birthdays and Anniversaries for June 18 Happy Anniversary, Wayne and Tammy Bryant (1975) | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Addison "Addie" Rose Way (2008) | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Brittany Janes (1989) | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Bruce Willis | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, David Burris (1949) | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Della Hughes | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Garnett Baker (1926) | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Hayes Hadley | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Irene Harmon | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Jeffery Lynn Willis (1963) | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Patty Rush Smith | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Relda Rucker Kerr (1954) | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Sandy Smith | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Tammy Stearns Stotts | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Whitney Wade (June 18, 1995) | (Updates/Corrections) In Memory Birthday, Bro.
