Gayle Harvey demands secret of being forever youthful

Comments re photo 39846 Birthday celebration for that Tutt girl at The Pines today

Gayle Harvey writes:
Ed, I don't know Ms. Hesford, but I've got to say that you must have made a mistake regarding her age. There's no way she could be 81, she doesn't even look 60. I want to know her secret! -Gayle Harvey
To tell you the truth, I thought she looked half her age. There's probably a simple way to achieve the look: Choose your parents carefully. It's something in the Tutt DNA. Chief Mike Glasgow, whose mother was a Tutt, must be 39 or even more, but he still looks the age of a boy scout. -EW

Correction. Apology to Councillor Craig Dean

We had it wrong: Notice on the Parks and Recreation Board meeting had been sent to media - and was even on ColumbiaMagazine.com. A parenthetical comment on the meeting had stated otherwise and is now corrected, thanks to Councillor Dean's letter, below:
Ed: I am writing to request that you correct the statements you made on your website on Tuesday, April 5th, ( See Columbia City Council meeting, April 4, 2011 report) with regard to my comment at the Monday, April 4th, Council meeting.

Your remark to my statement was that the media was not notified of the P & R meeting. After reading the article, I spoke with Charles Grimsley, and he assured me that he informed all the media about the meeting. Please see the attached link I copied from your calendar of events.

You were notified and it is listed on your website. I have had several people contact me asking me why we did not notify the media and thus making me look incompetent, and as if there were something to hide, since you had your comment under MY name.

I'm always open to your opinions, and value your input, whether I agree or not. I also understand criticism comes with my job. However, people read your website as 'gospel' and take you at your word.

I would appreciate an apology from the media for making that statement. I appreciate your website and all the information you provide and I hope you appreciate the request I am making.See: C/AC Parks & Rec will hear details of grant Thurs., March 24, 2011s/Craig Dean

Thanks. You are right. And please accept my apologies. The notice was sent by Jelaine Harlow of the Adair County Health Department and I had disassociated it from the Columbia/Adair Parks & Recreation, in my memory. That was my mistake, however, and the fact should have been checked. Thanks to Councillor Dean. The error in the article has been corrected. Again, my sincere apologies.-ED WAGGENER
