Louie Poynter, 80, Metcalfe County, KY (1943-2023) William Louie Poynter, 80, of Edmonton, KY passed away Friday, December 29, 2023, at T. J. Samson Community Hospital with his family by his side. He was a member of the Sulphur Springs Baptist Church and a former employee of T. J. Samson Community Hospital, a retired school bus driver for Metcalfe County Schools and served as a Metcalfe County Constable for several years. He enjoyed being around people and was known for sitting on the public square watching traffic and looking for a friendly conversation. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Drive sober or get pulled over Columbia Police Department Chief Charles Greer and Detective Evan Burton were Friday morning guests on WAIN and advised listeners to simply make plans in advance before going to a gathering where there will be drinking over the upcoming holiday. If you drink, plan ahead so that you do not drive. "Drive sober or get pulled over." If you drive under the influence, you will spend time in jail. Over the holidays, and every day, drivers are warned to put down cell phones and avoid injury and death. Beverly Cundiff, 77, Casey County, KY (1946-2023) Beverly Ann Cundiff, of Liberty, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at age 77. She was a member and elder at First Christian Church in Liberty. She was a homemaker that dearly loved her family. Louise Goode, 92, Casey County, KY (1931-2023) Louise Goode, of Liberty, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at age 92. Born on April 26, 1931, in Casey County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late William Stewart and Lucille Garrett Baldock. Louise was of the Church of God faith. She was great cook and was known for her pies, specifically fried apple pies. In previous years, she had been a cook at the Bread of Life Restaurant and the Casey County Jail.
