Letter: About Hummingbird Moths A reader writes in with more on the Hummingbird Moth: The term "hummingbird moth" is applied to many medium to large moths in the Sphingidae family and Hemaris genus of moths. There are more than 1,200 species of these moths worldwide, and roughly 125 of them can be seen regularly in North America. These insects are also called hawk moths, sphinx moths, clearwing moths, bee moths, and bee-hawk moths, and in the caterpillar stage, they are called hornworms. Free books at Auntie's Craft Corner By Veronica Klinglesmith Auntie's Craft Corner at Farmers Market on the Square has started a new program this year to offer free books to help promote reading during the market season. All books are donated, and you can find board books all the way up to high school. Students are welcome to come pick out a book, then keep it or pass it on to another. We have been so blessed with donations, that I've been rotating what is available every week.
