State launches upgraded Work Ready Communities dashboard Added features include county profiles By Kim Saylor Brannock Frankfort, KY - The Kentucky Center for Statistics (KYSTATS) within the Education and Workforce Development Cabinet (EWDC) launched a newly updated Kentucky Work Ready Communities Dashboard to provide a comprehensive view of education, workforce and economic information for all 120 Kentucky counties. The Kentucky Work Ready Communities Dashboard consolidates data into a single online resource to give applicants easy access to local workforce information. It also tracks where counties are in the Work Ready Communities certification process by showing which of the five criteria have been met. The interactive map gives criteria completion information when the user hovers over a respective county. ACSO: Adair man charged with DUI after Saturday collision By Sheriff Josh Brockman Adair County Sheriff's Office On Saturday night, March 23, 2019, at approximately 11:32pmCT, the Adair County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported single vehicle collision 5 miles east of Columbia on KY80. Upon arrival it was found that the driver, 18 year old Seth Deckard, was operating a 1996 gray Toyota 4-door when he left the roadway. Forestry officials urge caution as spring wildfires increase By John Mura/Lanny Brannock Frankfort, KY - Kentucky Division of Forestry (KDF) officials are urging caution after the spring forest fire hazard season, which began February 15, became more active up in the past three weeks. The KDF reports it has battled more than 189 forest fires, which have damaged more than 1,524 acres, since March 1. "I urge the citizens of the Commonwealth to be cautious when they decide to burn outdoors," said KDF Fire Management Chief Michael Froelich. "The record rains and low wildfire of the last few months are behind us. Wildfire danger increases with every day without measurable precipitation." ACSO: Adair Co man arrested on drug trafficking charges By Sheriff Josh Brockman Adair County Sheriffs Office On Friday, March 22, 2019, at 12:23amCT, the Adair County Sheriff's Office conducted a search of a residence suspected to be used for the illegal sale of narcotics. The home was located in eastern Adair County, off of TP Cundiff Road. During the search, individually packaged methamphetamine was located, along with pills, loaded syringes, drug paraphernalia, digital scales, and cash suspected as proceeds from sales of said drugs. Joseph Trumpis, age 40, was arrested and lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail on the following charges:

Kentucky Hosts National Summit on Rural Child Hunger By Sean Southard Louisville, KY - Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry campaign gathered anti-hunger advocates from across the country, including Kentucky, to look for ways to reduce hunger among children in rural communities during a national conference March 21-22 in Louisville. Participants heard about actions taking place in the field, looked for opportunities to scale existing programs, and talked about areas where more research, investment, or advocacy is needed. No Kid Hungry is dedicated to ending childhood hunger through effective programs that provide kids with the food they need.
