Homeplace summer schedule opens April 13

The Shakespeare in the Barn season opens April 13 with The Gospel of John

By George Kolbenschlag

The 2019 Homeplace on Green River Shakespeare in the Barn season will open April 13 with Robert Brock telling the story of the Gospel of John. Brock presents the Gospel as a storyteller, which is how early Christians shared the Bible in an age where manuscripts were hand-written, and most people could not read.

There is no ticket charge to see and hear Brock's performance, but there will be an opportunity to donate to help cover the cost of production and building maintenance. The performance will begin at 6pmCT/7pmET. Advanced reservations are recommended and can be made by calling or emailing Phil Hanna at (270) 384 2894 cphanna51@msn.com

Brock, who brought Smoke on the Mountain and Shakespeare's The Two Gentlemen of Verona to the Homeplace stage last summer, is an assistant professor and director of theater at Lindsey Wilson College.

Letter: Likes the new Campbellsville welcome sign

For what its worth, I like it. I like the way the power lines in the upper right quadrant seem to flow forth from the undulations in Kentucky's Northeastern border, giving it a quasi-three dimensional quality. Wow! We are building the critical mass of growers, processors, and researchers that will ensure the hemp industry's success in Kentucky for years to come."

Hemp processors reported $57.75 million in gross product sales last year, according to a Kentucky Department of Agriculture (KDA) review of 2018 hemp licensed processor reports.
