LWC Men's Basketball falls to Cumberland 77-70

Lebanon, TN - The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team fell in Mid-South Conference action on Saturday afternoon at the Dallas Floyd Phoenix Arena by a final score of 77-70. Lindsey Wilson lost after Cumberland was able to outscore the Blue Raiders, 33-18, over the final 12 minutes of the game after LWC led by as many as eight in the second half.

Lindsey Wilson is back in action when they hit the road for a MSC matchup with (RV) Georgetown College at 7pmCT in Georgetown, Kentucky.

16th District: Adair, Clinton, Cumberland, McCreary, Russell, Taylor, and Wayne Counties

I want to express my appreciation to you for allowing me the privilege to serve as your state Senator. I will continue to work diligently to make sure your voice is heard in the Capitol.

On Tuesday, January 8, 2019, both houses of the General Assembly will begin a 30-day legislative session. My colleagues and I are addressing several important issues, such as school safety, job creation and education.

I appreciate citizens who have expressed their priorities and concerns in the past, and I am writing today to ask your opinion on important issues which face our state and will shape Kentucky's future.

I have [prepared] a survey covering some of the topics the General Assembly may consider during the 2019 Session.

LWC Wrestling finishes 7th at NWCA National Duals

Louisville, KY - The Lindsey Wilson Wrestling team battled their way to a seventh place finish at the 2019 NWCA National Duals in Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday morning.

After a sluggish start against Southeastern that plagued the Blue Raiders in their first match of the day, the Blue Raiders were able to respond against Campbellsville in the seventh place match that saw them win 7-of-10 matches on their way to their third victory for the tournament.

KSP: Searchers find body of missing Gamaliel woman

Gamaliel, KY - On December 31st, 2018, at approximately 6:57PM, Monroe County dispatch received a 911 call from 19 year old Leah Carter of Gamaliel stating that she had attempted to cross a flooded bridge on Lyons Rd in Monroe County when her vehicle stalled out and was being swept away by flood waters.

Local Fire and Rescue and Law Enforcement personnel responded immediately and began searching for Ms. Carter. After unsuccessful search efforts that night, Ms. Carter's vehicle was located on the morning of January 1, 2019, at approximately 5:30amCT.

The vehicle was unoccupied and was located approximately 500 yards downstream from the location where Ms. Carter had attempted to cross the flooded bridge.

At approximately 10:47amCT on January 5, 2019, civilian volunteers, searching the area of East Fork Creek and Barren River, located the body of 19 year old Leah Carter. After five days of searching, her body was found on the river bank approximately five miles from the location where her car had been swept off of Lyons bridge on December 31st.

LWC Basketball opens conference play at Cumberland

The Lindsey Wilson men and women's basketball teams open up Mid-South Conference play on Saturday against Cumberland (TN) at Dallas Floyd Recreation Center in Lebanon, TN.

The Blue Raider women are set to tip off at 2pmCT with the men set to play afterwards at 4pmCT.

Text talk on Internet Safety at ACHS can help parents help kids

Parents can find help in order to help children be smart, safe, and respectful digital citizens when using technology at this event at ACHS Tuesday. Everyone is invited to attend.

Texting, livestreaming, Snapchat, Fortnite . . . Technology is changing fast, and many of us are struggling to stay one step ahead of our kids.

Please join us on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 5pmCT at the Adair County High School Cafeteria, 526 Indian Drive, Columbia, KY for a discussion on how to teach them to be smart, safe, and respectful digital citizens.

This very informative night will begin with a light meal followed by an Internet Safety presentation by students from each school then Jason Rector, District Network Engineer, and Kevin Atwood, School Resource Officer, will conduct an informative presentation for parents while students participate in fun, Internet Safety activities.
