Nothing like finding a stranger opening your car, looking inside

By Linda Waggener

I'm not going to name the person who shared this in my network, nor their location, to protect an innocent home owner, but this is worth echoing as we think about whether to have, or not have, burgler alarms and cameras on our property in what we feel are safe neighborhoods:
"Nothing like opening a garage door to set out the trash and finding a stranger looking in your car! It was a matter of less than a minute -- he had my car door open! I am frightened. I'm angry! ... I live in a safe neighborhood yet this happened! God help the person in a gray hoodie if you come back here!

Next morning, running an errand, on the way home, in the neighborhood -- guess who appears -- last nights kid (same clothes) with added backpack but school is already in session. Slammed on breaks, eye contact, then he takes off running through the neighborhood -- like a criminal!"
