Stanley Perkins, 79, Adair County, KY (1938-2017) He was a beloved Downtown Columbia person, a familiar figure one could rely on to liven up a day. He lived two blocks off the Columbia Square, and chose to walk most places he went, catching a ride with a friend for visits to nearby towns, hiring only an occasional cab to meet is active travel plans. He loved country music and had an encylopedic mind on the subject. He had a passion for playing cards, and was a master storyteller. He will be deeply missed. He was a member of a highly regarded South Central Kentucky family, the son of the late David & Louellen Perkins. Russell Jones, 81, Montpelier, KY (1936-2017) He served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War and then went to work for the Department of Defense. He grew up in the church and gave his life to our Lord at an early age. He was a member of respected Adair County, KY, family. He was the son of the late Ezra & Lynn Groves Jones. His wife, Jeannette Ingram Jones, survives. He leaves 16 direct living descendants.
