COLUMBIA, KY - (Mon 09 Oct 2017) - The Lindsey Wilson football team climbed one spot up to No. 5 in the latest NAIA Football Coaches' Top 25 Poll, officials from the national office announced on Monday.

The Blue Raiders collected 286 total voting points from the panel of national raters and have now been ranked in 57-consecutive polls dating back to the first week of the 2013 season.

Lindsey Wilson's move in the rankings comes after the Blue Raiders were on a bye week, but a loss by a team ahead of LWC in the previous rankings aided in the move, ending the four-week hold of the No. 6 spot.

Defending national champion Saint Francis (IN) continues to maintain the No. 1 position with 340 voting points and all 15 first-place votes. Baker (KS) is No. 2 with 327 points, followed by Reinhardt (GA) at No. 3 with 312 points and Morningside (Iowa) at No. 4 with 303 points.

Lindsey Wilson is now just one of eight teams with unbeaten records to be mentioned in the top 25.

Joining the Blue Raiders from the Mid-South Conference Bluegrass Division in the poll is Georgetown (KY) at No. 9 and Cumberland (TN) at No. 24. Campbellsville (KY) is two spots outside of the poll receiving votes.

Lindsey Wilson, Georgetown, Cumberland and Campbellsville own a combined record of 19-2 this season, with both losses attributed to Cumberland.

Next up for Lindsey Wilson is an Oct. 14 trip to Grayson, Kentucky to take on Kentucky Christian.
