In search of the Band of Bros. Man who repainted TRH marker Vonnie Kolbenschlag is impressed by great work: George and I have been out of town for almost two weeks. This morning on the way to church we passed the marker in front on the Trabue property and BOY does it ever look great! I knew someone at the Christian Church was going to redo the sign, but I do not know his name. Making Molasses in southern Adair County, KY By Robert Ellis Traveling Highway 704 yesterday looking for photo opportunities, I was delighted to see Molasses making going on at the homestead of Max and Kathy Hadley in southern Adair County, KY. They graciously gave me a free pass to take all the photos I wanted. I've shared a few photos of the event along with notes from a Wikipedia search of the process in this story. This year, almost all of those in attendance chose to gather at the Adair County Public Library, at 307 Greensburg Street, and then walk to the Columbia City Cemetery, 315 Campbellsville Street, accessing the cemetery from the N Monroe Street lane between the Adair Judicial Center and the Columbia-Adair County Fire Department. Click on headline for complete report By Ed Waggener The Columbia/Adair Utilities District Board of Commissioners met Thursday, October 5, 2017, in a special regular meeting at the CAUD Water Plant, 555 Griffin Springs Road, Campbellsville, KY, with Chairman Wid Harris presiding and all commissioners, David Jones, Mike Newton, Doug Sapp and Junior Brown present. At the meeting, the commissions received an update on the Burkesville Street Phase of the downtown project, approved the sale of a surplus pickup truck, and were told of the next phase in the effort to establish a county wide natural gas distribution system outside the area served by the City of Columbia's Gas Department. As well, General Manager Lenny Stone gave reports on CAUD's sewer operation, water distribution, and updated the board about the ongoing health problems of employee Jeff Wooldridge and the need for continued assistance to his family.
