Della Rexroat, 70, Russell County, KY (1947-2017)

She was a loving wife, mother, sister and aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was a loyal member of Cedar Spring Baptist Church in Windsor and spent many years traveling throughout Kentucky, Tennessee, and Ohio, along with her husband, as the alto of The Joy Bells gospel quartet. Della loved being in the outdoors, tending to her garden and cooking. But more than those she loved sharing the fruits of her labor with her family and friends. She will be remembered by all those who knew her as having a kind, gentle and loving heart for all those around her. She was the widow of Lyle Green Rexroat. She leaves one direct living descendant, her son, Mark Lee Rexroat, Dallas, TX.

Burial will be at the Cedar Springs Church Cemetery.

Elizabeth (Betty) Benson, Russell County, KY (1931-2017)

She was a member of Russell Springs First Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Floren & Tina Perkins McBeath, and the widow of first Doug Emerson and later Carl Benson. She was the matriarch of a highly regarded family.

Kevin Ray Goodman, 40, Casey County, KY (1976-2017)

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Yosemite, KY. He was a brick and block mason and he also loved to fish. He was the son of the late Bobby and Geraldine Sanders Goodman. His wife, Rachel Elmore Goodman, survives. He leaves three direct living descendants.

Five senior welding students at Adair County High School spent a day last month job shadowing at INFAC North America, Inc. in Campbellsville, Ky. The students - Preston Coomer, Evan Darnell, Mason Franklin, Elliot Hare, and Adam Roberts - were just a few of the many in the Class of '17 who forewent their regular schedules for a day and instead took a peek into life after high school, observing work environments that match their career paths.

Reading note: The Bird Sisters of Wisconsin remember

The Bird Sisters, a novel by Rebecca Rasmussen, spans the long, interesting lives of two Wisconsin women and, among many special moments, has the following descriptive note on aging that I thought worth sharing.

This comes from the pondering of sister Millie who "... didn't quite know when what had happened to her body had happened. The sagging skin beneath her knees told one story, the liver spots on her hands told another.

WILLIAMSBURG, KY (Sun 09 Apr 2017 - The Lindsey Wilson baseball team lost a pair of 4-2 games to No. 25-ranked Cumberlands (KY) at Doyle Buhl Stadium on Sunday.

The sweep drops the Blue Raiders to 23-18 overall and 8-4 in Mid-South Conference play. The Patriots improve to 31-11 and 9-3 in MSC action.
