The Whitehurst Diaries: A study of breakfasts, then and now

'Retirement in Kentucky finds us with a relaxed attitude toward breakfast. It is rare that we consume more than 2 meals per day. Breakfast is a movable, usually mid-morning affair--depending on weather, season, plans for the day. We don't always choose the same components. I may prefer yogurt and fruit, having started the morning much earlier with my one cup of coffee and a cookie!' - SHARON WHITEHURST.

Real estate agent sees all of Adair - Says trash everywhere

Annette Burton writes:
It is a shame more people don't take the time to dispose of garbage at home instead of throwing it out on our road ways as a real estate sales person I drive a lot around Adair Co. and the county has trash everywhere. That is just plain uncalled for; maybe if these people were fined for some of this it would slow down. It couldn't hurt. We have a beautiful county. Why not have a clean one? Not everyone throws trash out of the cars, but to those who do: Can I bring my trash and throw it in your yards. --Annette Burton

Diane Benningfield: Litter problem is countywide

She agrees with Steve Coomer. Current state of our roadsides is 'quite disheartening', writer says

Diane Benningfield writes:
The litter problem is countywide. My husband and I go riding every Sunday afternoon and we have been all over Adair County and surrounding counties. It is amazing to me the amount of garbage we see alongside all the roads in this county. We talk about it every Sunday while driving around. When we go into other counties, it is nothing compared to Adair County. It is quite disheartening to see this happening. --Diane Benningfield
