Josie Walker Diary from 1st - 1884 - Adair County Fair Several years ago, we were fortunate enough to come across a couple of diaries from a young woman, Josephine "Josie" Walker, who lived in Adair County. The first diary spanned from 1883 -1884 and was purchased by the Kentucky Library & Museum at Western Kentucky University and Eddie and I were able to purchase the second diary which covered 1891-1893. The ACAA had built an amphitheater, racecourse, music stand, judge's stand, stock barn and other essential structures, including food booths. The fair was a success and brought in many horsemen from across the state and Tennessee. By Ted Sloan Lexington, KY - With the Fourth of July and peak summer travel season around the corner, state and local authorities are working with retailers to prevent thieves from stealing consumers' data at motor fuel pumps, Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles announced today.
