Lindsey Wilson captures first Learfield Directors' Cup The NACDA Learfield Sports Directors' Cup is an award given annually by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics to the colleges and universities in the United States with the most success in collegiate athletics. (Wikipedia) After entering the spring season in third place in the Learfield standings, Lindsey Wilson scored 373.25 points -- the most in the NAIA -- during April and May championships to claim the Directors' Cup. By Chris Wells Lindsey Wilson athletics has captured the program's first National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics Learfield Directors' Cup, NACDA officials announced on Tuesday. Lindsey Wilson finished with 852.75 points in the yearlong competition. Oklahoma City finished second with 777 points followed by Wayland Baptist (Texas) with 750 points. April 4 Old Glory is waving near the basket on the court-house, a hundred feet high. To every true American citizen, and we have no other kind in Adair, the stars and stripes brings to every patriotic bosoms thrilling sensations. There were men in Adair who favored Germany against the British and French, but when our own beloved country is going to take a hand, all hats are lifted to the flag of this country. April 11 The schools in Columbia and in the county ought to be flying the flag. State Supt. of Schools, Gilbert, is asking by letter, that all county superintendents have flags placed on rural schools. Attorney General Logan has ruled that flags may be legally purchased and raised out of the county school fund. April 25 A large flag has been ordered from Louisville and when it arrives it will be erected on the court-house cupola, and will wave above the basket. April 4 A United States flag now floats from the end of a pole seventy-five feet high, on the Post-office corner. The flag was purchased by subscription, and Dr. Jas.
