Removing dead animals from the roads matter of simple respect By Joyce M. Coomer I do this on a fairly regular basis. Last Monday it was a black and white cat on Hurt Street and a squirrel on our road. When I see deceased animals on 704 and have a spot I can stop and there's not vehicles behind me, I also remove them from 704. What really irks me is people who will leave an animal that has been killed by a vehicle at the end of their driveway until the animal's remains have been ground to nothing by their vehicles and other vehicles and the weather. Simple respect for the dead of any species should prompt them to at least move the dead animal out of the roadway. - Joyce M.
