Why aren't simple changes already made on Jamestown Street?

With speed control, more on and off street parking: Every one will win

George Kolbenschlag writes:
Ed: I agree with your assessment of the need for some changes on Jamestown Street just off the Square. With less through truck traffic, some better traffic control - especially speed - and some more on and off street parking everyone would win. Increased business on and off the Square, increased pedestrian traffic, and a better looking Columbia. It seems to me to be a relatively simple fix. Why is it not happening? --George Kolbenschlag

Junebugs plentiful on blackberry vines in Marion County, KY

Despite reports of scarcity, writer finds abundance of critters. Also abundance of chiggers and poison oak, so no need to fear endangerment of these species

Cheryl Yates writes:
I thought the same as Joyce Coomer did, that Junebugs were scarce. I had not picked blackberries for several years. I walked the family farm {Livers} in Marion County last week picking blackberries. We picked three gallon of the berries, but we all kept commenting about the hundreds of Junebugs in the vines. I don't remember ever seeing so many. It was a great day despite all the chiggers and poison oak we brought home with us. - Cheryl Yates
